Art Smart Challenge
2016 Awards Presented
The 2016 Art Smart Challenge grand prize winner is Alyssa Foster of Tulsa.  Alyssa received her prizes, including a stained glass version of her artwork, at the awards ceremony on 3/26.
A display of all the prize-winning art will be on the Art Smart Challenge Sculpture at the Tulsa River Parks within the next two weeks.  You can also check out all the winning entries, which came from several states and other countries, on our website. Here are all the winners.
Entries for 2017 are being accepted now – get started on your masterpiece!
OSU Spirit Rider Finds New Home
One OSU fan scored the ultimate prize last week.  He took home the last copy of the OSU Spirit Rider window we built for T. Boone Pickens stadium.  In fact, this was the prototype built for the architects to review.  We provided all the documentation and provenance needed for a future Antiques Roadshow appearance!
Team Building
and Team Outings
If your company or organization is looking for a new type of team activity, we have just what you need! Our stained glass and DoodleBohmBa events bring creativity, fun, and teamwork to your outing. Let us customize an event for your group – individual or team projects, a variety of options based on timeframe and price – we’ll make it a unique experience!
Repair Highlight
When a local church discovered their windows had been vandalized, they called us right away.  In documenting the damage, we found the rock the culprits used (but not fingerprints, unfortunately).  We got the windows repaired and installed before the rains blew in.
Facebook Survey – Up or Down?
We had no idea so many people would chime in with their opinions on this question! Here are the promised results of our informal survey:
Circles should be at top:  39
Circles should be at bottom:  42
Either is fine:  2
it is flowers:  2
it is candles:  6
A few comments:
  • I like the big circle at the top, the other way looks a bit suggestive!
  • These are intended to be “drapery” and should be hung with weight at the top.
  • Suit yourself, but it would be historically accurate to have the circle at the top. Other design elements, such as wallpaper borders, would have been oriented that way
  • top – a v shaped composition is very well established in the arts and swags are also used frequently.  turn it the other way and the composition becomes like an upside down V and the swags turn into odd arches.

Now we are expanding the program to include glass. All those scraps you didn’t want to put in your trash, but don’t have room to store – just bring them by the studio!

HELP WANTED – We’re looking for someone to work primarily with sales and internet marketing but also helping in the studio – setting up for and teaching classes, stocking, assisting customers, etc.

CERAMICS CLOSEOUT – We have kiln, glazes, and bisque ware available. Email for details.
