Domestic Violence effects every family in some way in America. The Oklahoma DVIS Kennel is the first kennel in a DV shelter. These shelters house victims of Domestic violence and sexual assault. This one is different, it allows for pets. You know how important your pet is. And what additional anguish you would obtain knowing that the person that abused you, also abused or killed your pets. Pets are like family. TSG is doing what it can, along with Jack to help by doing our annual DVIS fundraising.
Seventy-one percent of pet-owning women entering shelters reported that their attacker had injured, maimed, killed, or threatened family pets. National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
DVIS has in essence removed a barrier for these women to leave their abusive partners.
How Can I Help?
Our Mascot jack will be collecting dog/cat supplies for the DVIS kennel through the month of December! With your help, we can help these women and their fur babies. Santa will be at Tulsa Stained Glass December 17th and this will be a big, big, big collection day for us. Bring everything you can donate, let’s reach out where we can.
